Burgel/Horn Editions (Klaus Burgel, New York)
Playful and exuberant, sensual and luxurious, Burgel/Horn jewelry is inspired by nature and the sensual properties of the materials he uses: silver, gold, palladium, pearls, tektites, and various precious and semiprecious stones. His collection ranges from pieces that are often daringly simple (a silver rod hanging from a broken circle, for example), to pieces that are so brilliantly unpretentious that the precious metal seems to have been reunited with its origin as a beautiful yet ordinary element in the natural universe. A master metalsmith from Germany, Klaus Burgel is both a teacher and prominent lecturer at a variety of universities such as Parsons, the Rhode Island School of Design, and the School of the Museum of Fine Art in Boston.
